"The rods perform well, at short distances obviously. Nice feature that though as you don't have to have the proverbial 30 feet out to make them work. 3 metres works very nicely throwing a surprisingly tight loop. Bit longer line and you have to slow down a bit with the cast, more like split cane, but still casts well. You'd expect a wider loop as the rods seem to be more of a through action with longer lines. The guys who will use these won't want to cast further than about 5 metres anyway.
They feel wand like after a 5 weight, which incidentally felt like a beachcaster after a hour with them. Overall, a nice, neat, and light point and shoot tool I'd say. I would think the 7.0 throwing a 3 weight may be slightly better on distance, allowing good sport on slightly larger rivers etc, or for smaller fish."
