Left tabHow to Correctly Spool Line onto a Fishing ReelRight tab

Bluefin Leisure Ltd

Spinning Reel

With the supply spool on the ground, reel up 10 feet of line. Stop and allow slack between rod tip and spool. If the line twists, you need to flip the spool over and start again. Keep tension as you fill your reel with the thumb and forefinger of your rod hand. Fill until 1/8" from spool rim.

Baitcasting Reel

Push a pencil through the supply spool. Have a friend hold both ends of the pencil and exert pressure inward on the supply spool as you spool onto your reel. The line should go on evenly side to side if the reel has a level wind. If not, make sure you wind the line on evenly. Fill the reel to within 1/8" of the spool lip.

More reel types will be added when available...
